Empowering Women in Real Estate: RPG’s Commitment

As we celebrate Women’s History Month this March, Rehoboth Property Group (RPG) reaffirms its dedication to supporting and empowering women in the workforce, particularly in the real estate industry. At RPG, we believe in fostering an inclusive environment where women can thrive and contribute to the success of our organisation.

One of the key pillars of RPG’s commitment to female empowerment is our active participation in speaking engagements and events aimed at promoting gender equality and women’s advancement in real estate. Sarah Stephen, a member of our leadership team and Residential Director of Rehoboth & Stephen (R&S), recently spoke at Knight Frank, where she shared her experience as a female leader in the industry. Sarah emphasised the importance of empowering women to build their wealth through real estate investments, highlighting the significant role women will play in controlling the world’s wealth in the future.

Furthermore, RPG collaborated with Black Rise to address the gender and racial disparities in property investment. Our joint event, “Black Women & Generational Wealth,” focused on closing the gap for black women in real estate while presenting investment opportunities to empower them financially. Sarah was our representative once more and gave an impassioned and inspiring talk to the women in attendance.

Sarah’s keynote speech at the International Gathering of God’s Women underscored the vital contribution of women in the marketplace. Her participation at MIPIM, themed around inclusivity and the impact of women in real estate, further showcased RPG’s commitment to promoting gender diversity and equality within the industry.

Data from Crew Network reinforces the importance of gender diversity in business. Businesses that hire women are seen to be financially stronger, with a 15% increase in profitability. Moreover, when women of colour are placed in leadership positions, businesses experience a 35% boost in financial performance. With women already controlling 32% of the world’s wealth, RPG recognizes the urgency of empowering women to manage their finances and build wealth for themselves and future generations.

A large part of Sarah’s commitment to educating women on the importance of investing and financial literacy comes from the knowledge that 80% of women die single, most times this is due to their husbands passing before them. Patriarchal society assigns roles and puts the man in the position of the breadwinner, leaving him to handle all of the finances. This leaves many women with a massive burden that they are unprepared for after their partners pass, with little knowledge of how to maintain or improve their financial situation.

As RPG continues its journey to create a more equitable future for women, we understand the importance of representation and visibility. Women need to see successful female role models in real estate to envision themselves in leadership positions. Through our initiatives and engagements, RPG aims to provide the visual stimulants and support needed for women to thrive in the industry.

In conclusion, RPG remains committed to championing gender equity and equality, empowering women, and creating opportunities for their success in the real estate sector. Together, we can build a more inclusive and prosperous future for all. Happy Women’s History Month!
